Tallahassee Museum's Annual Halloween Howl

By Tiffany Battle on October 19, 2016

Your witch wreath is up, your candy is ready, and your cobwebs are strung about the house. The weather is cooling off and the end of October is drawing near. With less than two weeks left until Halloween, many of us are looking for activities to put us in the holiday mood. Look no further! The Tallahassee Museum has you covered.

Round up your costume, your trick-or-treat basket, and your friends and family for a night full of spooky fun! The Tallahassee Museum is hosting their 23rd annual “Halloween Howl” this weekend. Friday and Saturday night between 6 and 10 p.m., the museum will be ghoulified (that’s a word, right?) and will come alive with fright.

If you’ve ever been to the Tallahassee Museum, you know it’s surrounded by wooded area that will provide a stage of sorts for those looking to be spooked. The event’s Facebook page claims there will be “scary clowns, dark passageways, primitive graveyards, terrifying dolls, and more” along the Haunted Trail. The trail will open at 7:15 p.m. each night of the Halloween Howl.

The museum will also feature a “not-so-spooky” trail for the tots (and you if you don’t fancy having the pants scared off of you). There will be Halloween-themed games, trick-or-treating, a costume contest for all ages, and live entertainment featuring Safari Man and Dallas Bowlin. Aside from the buckets of candy you’ll be scarfing down, the museum’s Trail Break Café will have delicious food for all to enjoy.

Prices
Non-member adults will get in for $15, and non-member kids for $12. Adult members of the Tallahassee Museum will get in for $13, and kid members for $10. All children under 3 will get in free.

Tree-to-Tree Adventures will be discounted for all Halloween Howl attendees. The children’s course will be discounted to $10, and the adult course to $20. Bring the entire family for a night of affordable and frightening fun.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the upkeep of the Museum and their education and conservation efforts.

We’re lucky to live in such an amazing city that hosts events like this to bring the community together in the spirit of Halloween. So pick a night this weekend to head out to the Tallahassee Museum because the old, young, easily frightened and the bravest of the bunch will all have something fun to partake in during the Halloween Howl.
